I got the impression from previous Erasmus-ers that the general idea of an Erasmus exchange for London uni students is that you go to somewhere cheaper with better weather and food, have tons of fun, sit your exams with much less stress comparing to your London mates, meet lots of fellow crazy-in-a-good-way european students, basically spend the whole year enjoying yourself. However...I'm sure it's not collective lying. XD XD
It doesn't help that I enjoy living in London so much to the point that there's simply no comparison. Having said that, I could see myself happily living in Rome...
V.sorry about spamming but the soddy alarm just wouldn't stop. è_é

Stop. The. Alarm. Clock. NOW
Feb. 3rd, 2007 | 01:00 am
Apparently the ingenuity of the design is that 1) they're all connected directly to the electrical supply so there's no battery fo be taken out; 2) when they're not working (i.e. now) people here can not stop them because we're senza some sort of glass(?) or so I've been told by some guy who can't speak either English or Italian. Oh and since this hall of residence is in the middle of nowhere and there's no public transport at this hour, can't even escape...
...so everyone's waiting for some miraculous assistence to appear at 1 o'clock in the morning. Actually I do believe that the night porter has contacted some people, but it's a good question to ask how long it'll take them to get here, or at all.
I'm SO going to move when I'm done with all the exams *is even unhappier about this place*

Dessert sounds delicious. Why do they get to have all the fun and cakes and nice dinner when I'm not there? *sulks* there seems to be a lot more fun stuff going on in general when I'm away. Well I know I just didn't notice them before.
And now I forget what I was writing *sighs*
Hopefully Ceris or Chan can get me some cake as well, which will be rock hard the next time i go back, if not stolen by Hamley. LOL

Never thought that he wouldn't be able to fight the cancer, not for one day. How can someone so young and wonderful and fabulous be deprived from the world for such a trivial cause? Many many other less worthy people fought the battle and won against it, why he has to lose? And he had such a sweet and unpretentious personality... poor boy. This is probably one of the hardest hit on me in a long time. Think I'll remember him very profoundly now. And that poster from Wembley can lay safely in my suitcase because I can't bear the thought of seeing him again...lively...whereas the real him is already bones and ashes, lying somewhere underground in cold and dark at Leeds! Farewell and RIP. I hope this won't happene ver again.

I know this is a one-day late birthday message but
Oct. 8th, 2006 | 03:54 pm
Yesterday, exactly on his 22nd B-day, some random guy asked me about Kazuki.
Basically he started by asking where the Kazuki pics were from (Arena Act 13 I think). Then he was interested in knowing what Kazuki does and if I know him personally or not. At the end he commented that the pics look very nice and so does Kazuki. I beamed thanks
So yeah. Happy B-day Kazuki. XDD

Sono arrivata a Milano
Sep. 28th, 2006 | 04:47 am
mood:
exhausted
but the thing is that my Italian is still very, very bad right now after not having done anything about it during the holiday. How am I going to manage throughout the year?
Language skills aside, after everything that has happened in the last month, especially in the last couple of days (very, very unlucky stuff), I just feel so stressed and start questioning myself if I've made the right decision. Staying in London would be so much easier and more comfortable.
I know I'm supposed to take this as an adventure and new experience in life but atm I'm just so not in that mood. I thought I would be really excited because I've been planning this exchange for years, but when it finally comes all the excitement just disappears completely. Instead I'm full of stress and exhausion and crap. I guess I'll be in a better mood once I get used to everything (which is probably going to take ages).
It makes me wonder about how I'm getting worse at dealing with new environment as I grow older and am supposed to be better at this.

Finally...
Sep. 4th, 2006 | 09:26 pm
So yeah, would definitely recommend everyone to get a FireFox, before your IE breaks down completely under the attacks of hundreds of new spywares and virus generated for IE everyday. It's open-source, it's a lot faster, it uses much less hard disk space, it saves you from headaches and proves again that MS is, as most of the time it has been proven, crap.
...one day I'm going to change my operating system to Linux, yes I will.

I hate people on YJA ;_;
Aug. 20th, 2006 | 09:18 pm
mood:
sad
Fine. I did forget about the time a bit, but the ending price was 1200yen and if I did win, the final amount I would have to pay would be god knows how much plus shipping plus deputy fee...which would have been well over $22 for a photoset and a postcard and that's just crazy. I really don't understand Japanese people when they could just go to Tokyo or Osaka for the shows and the merchandise themselves, or I'm sure they can find some friends to do it instead, unlike us overseas fans (or just me).
At this point I'm hoping that there would be more sellers selling limited merchandise on YJA @_@
How badly I want to see Kengo's new photoset *headdesk*

Kazuki's newest photoset, Kengo's imaginary(?) girlfriends and Konishi
Jul. 20th, 2006 | 01:39 am
Kazuki you have to stop robbing us ;_;
Newly published on his official website, this place is doing Kazu's artist book memorial photoset at 150 yen per photo during the period of 16th July - 31st Aug. Of course, it's a Japan only thing again. Kazu's loyal fans can either pick it up from the printers in certain shops, or have it shipped to their home.
me really wants ;_; especially the half naked one
Have been watching a lot of Garo episodes recently. Konishi is adorable in it ^_^ apparently he's very good at pulling this sort of stony-faced but gentle-hearted character. .. .. i'm too sleepy to say anything else but Garo got me into Konishi, very much XD

I wonder if I should just give up...
Jun. 17th, 2006 | 08:27 pm
Have been calling the tenimyu presale number for more than an hour now, but line's busy all the time. I did expect this to happen but at this rate, when I finally get through the tickets I want would've gone anyway. Maybe they're already gone now.
Shall I just give up...or keep going back to the phone every now and then ="= it's a huge waste of time, and I'm bored of repeating meaningless work already.

Vivian sucks
Jun. 17th, 2006 | 02:30 am
mood:
tired
She's been quite temperamental and when we tried to control her over a fancy flash website today, she refused to listen. Instead she chose to act as she wishes, such as suddenly zooming in a very high speed. LOL. After 3 weeks we managed to get some features done, but the proper AI part is near non-existent and to be honest, how many people would be interested in a hopping and wiggling vacuum cleaner, although fun to watch?
OK it's all down to our codes, but Dynamic C isn't the easiest language in the world to understand or program with. I really don't understand why the supervisor has recommended the Rabbit processor to his groups, as it's not more useful than a simple pic microcontroller but produces more problems in both hardware and software. And the accessories, urh, most people in the discussion forums and groups dropped off their wifi card after a while and used something else whereas we have to stick with this poor quality product and wasted loads of time trying to solve problems that aren't our fault.
---something different...---
Took me ages to translate the 98' World Cup part in P's autobiography. Why does he have to talk in such a subtle way sometimes? He's not even a subtle person XDDD Some sentences...I'm sure it's going to get some fangirls screamig which I don't particularly want to see :-(
The fun bit is about the billiard matches and I didn't know gli Azzurri stayed in a castle!
Anyway buona fortuna per questo Mondiale!
---Gorou-kun---
Kengo's newest VB diary is about Gorou-kun. For those who don't know, Gorou-kun is his teacup poodle of a pet...seriously, teacup poodle? wtf...
Btw the 'go' in 'gorou' is the same kanji as 'go' in 'Kengo', so I guess that's where the name from. Kengo seems to be really fond of this name. He said in the burimyu pamphlet interview that he'll name his zanpakutou (his, not Aizen's) Gorou *shrugs* *still can't understand how he can name a teeny tiny dog with such a masculine name (the kanji for 'rou' means wolf...)*

I think I'm going to fall in love with the fourth Tezuka
Jun. 3rd, 2006 | 08:30 pm
mood: bouncy
Actually, I knew I was going to like the fourth Tezuka, a lot, even before the new cast info got published. Since I've already been fangirling about three of them, one more shouldn't be a problem *rolls eyes*
Went to Battersea park for a picnic with friends. Such a lovely weather today! The best we've had in weeks...probably months. Played 3-a-side football and we lost horrendously, lol, mainly because neither Claire nor I can score and poor Dave had to keep running around...he was quite good though.
*goes away to happily stare at her Tezuka photosets*
*and tests an new icon XDDD* Kengo is such a cutie-pie *laughing v.hard*

Kengo's lost earring
May. 2nd, 2006 | 01:34 pm
mood: compathetic
I wonder what sort of meaning it had for Ken-chan (now I didn't start calling him like that, Kime did XDDD). Maybe he made it? He used to be a metal-carving artist before becoming an actor (what an interesting occupation!). I'm actually contemplating of sending him a replacement. Problem is, I can't find that style or anything similar anywhere, otherwise I would have pierced my ear and got one for myself. *sighs*. I really have to say that in terms of men's accessories, nowhere else can compare to Japan. Not in the UK anyway.
Ken-chan is just so cute, mourning about his earring in the journal ><. Makes me really want to pat the top of his head and say 'It's OK, we'll find it". (Fine I know I'm being v.fangirlish)
Fingers crossed that he'll find the earring in a random corner of his room or something (I don't like seeing him being so sad @_@) poor boy.

Saien DVD received! Yay!
Apr. 25th, 2006 | 04:27 am
Grrr, stupidly pressed backspace and lost the whole entry ><
Anyway this is going to be quick as there's an evil maths for signals exam waiting tomorrow ="=
Saien got in today along with a More than limit programme, a tatsuya programme and a Kengo photoset. Oh the kengo-ness *starry eyes*
MTL programme has a little data men comp between Sota and Shiozawa, which involves them making funny comments on two pages' worth of backstage photos XDDD. Nagayan is as cute as ever and I suddenly find Tuti VERY VERY attractive. Guess it came from re-watching burimyu after finally reading the original manga. Tuti's Gin is intriguingly and frighteningly authentic. And he looks so pretty in Gin's wig. How did he manage that? I always thought that Nagayan is one actor who can pull out virtually every role he's been in but Tuti is Tuti all the time and has too much originality for his roles. But burimyu made me realise how good an actor he is. Tuti IS Gin on the stage, Gin in flesh and blood. Tuti you're amazing ( now my useless brain can't generate anythign more complicated than meaningless fangirling. oh well.)
Tatsuya is a play performed recently in tokyo starring Kengo Ookuchi and Masato Wada from tenimyu. That's about as much i'm going to say on the play itself now because the fangirl in me can't wait and has to get all the drooling out before anything else. Although the programme is tiny and has little content comparing to tenimyu programmes i still love it A LOT. OMG Kengo is so gorgeous in it...the wild and violent look in his eyes, like an injured lion, the piercing glaze and the best part, the blood streak on his chest *dies* I can feel the ultimate masculinity and sexiness radiating from his body and...*stops self* I have to put it away otherwise i'll spend the whole night drooling over the two pages featuring him #_#
Have to wait until at least this weekend to watch them. Exams come at such an inconvenient time.

The parcels from Japan
Mar. 28th, 2006 | 09:13 pm
mood:
pissed off
Ok, apologies for spamming the f-list and if you don't live in the UK this probalby isn't going to be any useful. But I have to get it out coz it's already ruining my otherwise fantastic evening. Anyway, the suggestion is that
NEVER, EVER USE PARCEL FORCE~!
I guess by this stage everyone else in the world who has pre-ordered the hyoteimyu in winter dvd and the Kazuki/Saito idol dvds have received them, apart from me. To start with, Amazon japan didn't ship my idol dvds until 4 days after they were out, which was a Sunday so they were shipped even later, whereas my friends in Japan got their dvds one day before the official release date. *sighs* I could understand if they want to serve their domestic customers first. Plus SAL has been fairly predictable and reliable, so i just need to count the days
With the normal no-more-than-12-hrs flight and a 9-hr time difference advantage (UK is 9 hr behind), the parcel finally appeared, after a mysteriously long period of 42 hours, in Coventry. Different from all the other normal posts which go from Heathrow to London directly, mine had to make a merry travel up to the PF national hub first. After another few days of exhausting waiting (a weekend stuck in between didn't help either), it reached the local sorting office and kept being sent back coz none of us were in in the morning to collect it. However i didn't receive any sort of card, notice, whatever to tell me that i've missed my post! If there wasnt online tracking i'd probably have worried to death...like this whole EMS thing hadn't already made me mental and annoyed. Nearly one week passed since it was sent and I'm still...parcel-less, dvd-less and VERY VERY pissed off.
Anyway I googled a bit about the specific parcel force depot and to my surprise, tons and tons of people have complained about them and reported similar problems. That explained it. I totally despise parcel force now and would personally stop anyone that i know from using it. And they charge a shamelessly high rate for their poor service.
The whole thing just made me feel so exhausted, I can't even listen to tenimyu music at the moment. And i know i should be fangirling in the spirit of DL3 and celebrate all the dorkiness and gheiness of our lovely boys with everyone else, but I'm so not in that mood. Oh well...

Late update...
Mar. 10th, 2006 | 04:24 pm
Hmmm I'm being really lazy with my own lj (not a surprise though).
A very late recap of the curling varsity cup two weeks ago. We had lots of fun playing against our second team while waiting for Cambridge (bad traffic on M5 or something) and beat them 11-3, hoho. It's good to feel the improvement and I was gaining a little bit more precision...it's all about precision. Anyway after two hours of waiting they finally came in and we just kept playing so that Cam could have enough time to warm up. Now I say that our boys were just being generous and playing a good role of host and just...not good at negotiating this type of stuff and gave in too easily. I'm not saying they were taking our advantage but, you know, matches are supposed to be fair right. ..anyway, it was fun. I did considerably better than my counterpart on the cam team coz she was just being totally rubbish for some strange reason, but they had very good people playing the third and fourth. We employed an aggressive strategy trying to level up when we were down 2-4, but it didn't work very well and gave them more points so it was like 2-6. Oh well. Although it was a bit long (5-hr non stop playing without any lunch or breakT_T)it was a great time and the cam team bought us drinks in the local pub. They are actually surprisingly friendly and nice people, comparing some of their sports teams obviously. Considering the weird but understandable (erh) Imperial anti-Oxbridge (esp. Cam) complex, it was amazing that the two teams got on so well. Their captain was amazing XDD.
Anyway I'm glad i took on curling because of Hice Cool and an wondefully stupid but hilarious and cute Makoto!Shirota in it. Next...Capoeira! *drools on Takumi* Tenimyu has had an amazing effect on me in terms of taking on stuff the actors were doing. AND even the taste on men! I couldn't help flirting with the cute japanese waitors in restaurants XDDD and didn't even realise i was doing it XDDD.
